A Good Tired

This is a picture of my great, great niece Danielle who I haven't met yet. She lives in California. She is a cutie.

I weighed in this morning and lost another 3.4 lbs. for a Weight Watcher total of 40 and my total of 54. I am so happy about the weight loss but I have not been happy about my health.

The month of June I went to the emergency room twice. The first was pain in my knee and second was the pain in my shoulder. I know I mentioned this in a previous entry but what I am getting at is that I finally went to my general doctor and told him my symptoms and he gave me a blood test for about 5 different things. He called me a few days later and told me I have Migrating Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am on steroids and heavy duty pain killers. The first day I took the steroids I started feeling 110 percent better. I took my last one today so I hope the pain doesn't come back. I don't have an appointment for the specialist until the 15th. I had my bone scan on Thursday and I am hoping to hear from my general doctor next week.

I would not wish this pain on my worst enemy. I can't explain it but it really, really hurts. I have been doing some reading on the internet about it. I am going to have tons of questions for the doctor when I go see her. I guess if I can get through brain surgery I can get through this.

The title of my blog is because I have done nothing today but cook my hubby's lunches for next week and make a double batch of Oreo Fluff for my daughter and her boyfriend. I also made some pasta salad for the party we are going to tomorrow at my sister in law's house. They have a new pool and a hot tub so I know I am going to be swimming since it will be the first time I have gone swimming this year. I am a water baby - Pisces.

Well, I am sorry to be such a downer but I wanted to let you all know how I was feeling.

Have a safe and fun 4th of July.

Your niece is ADORABLE!!!! I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with that pain.... a co-worker of mine was also recently diagnosed with RA, and she's also waiting to see a specialist. Sad they make you wait so long while you're in such pain. Sure hope you are feeling better soon.

So sory to read that you are still suffering with the aches and pains. But gla dat least that you have now got somthing that you can pin a name on. Glad the steroids have helped only prob with them is that you tend to put on wieght ! so if that should happen don't get too upset, it will come
off again, you have proved how strong you are.
HAve a lovely peaceful July 4th,
love Sybil x

Listening to your body complaints is like listening to myself, only I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

Getting old sucks doesn't it? LOL

Happy 4th of July!

Hey Dutch...

Hang in there. The weight loss is amazing. I hope they find meds that will really ease your pain.

Thanks for updating us.

I have osteoarthitis in both knees.
I never knew it could hit when you are in your 40's.
I have flare ups, somedays are very painful. I had the bone scans, blood work ect..
The predisone does help some, but I am afraid to take it much.
