April Showers

It started raining last night and it has not stopped all day today. It is also suppose to rain Monday and Tuesday. I have heard of April showers but come on now. It was beautiful here Thursday and Friday. It was in the 70's and I got a little burnt. I spent most of the day outside on my back deck reading and hanging laundry on the clothes line.

I forgot to do an entry last Sunday and I lost another 1 lb last week and another lb this week making my total to 44 lbs lost so far. My Chubby Chick Challenge total is 20 lbs.

I have been slacking off a bit on exercise. I only got in 10 miles this week but I am going to do better. I got 2 new exercise tapes from the library so I am going to try those out.

I am starting to get a little bored with my Walk Away the Pounds tapes. My hubby and I found this little trail a few blocks from our house. It went uphill and I could really feel my calves starting to burn. I am going to go back on that trail as soon as the weather permits.
All of Johns tests turned out great. His cholesterol was a little high so the doctor put him on medicine which he takes once a day. When he went for his colonoscopy they found 4 polyps which they removed and they were all benign. I was so happy I made him go for the test. He has to have one every 2 years now. I went to my doctor on Friday because I need to get this hernia repaired. I have been having pain under my stomach and above my left leg. He told my that pain would not be from the hernia so he is ordering a complete scan of my stomach. I have had this pain for about 10 years now. I just want to get rid of it because it has become painful at times when I am exercising. I know once I have the hernia repaired that I can't exercise for about 6 weeks. We also discussed that maybe since I am overweight that something is pressing on a nerve where I hurt. I hope this is the last test I ever have to take for a long time. Ok, enough about my health problems.

The season finale of Desperate Housewives is on tonight. I feel like going to bed now but I want to watch it. I get really sleepy when it is a rainy day plus I got up early today. I am thinking about asking my hubby to record it for me but since he is downstairs watching TV I don't think he will.

My brother from California is coming in for about 11 days.
He will be here for his 60th birthday. I am not sure what my other brother and I are going to do for him. I know he is going to a Cub and White Sox games plus he wants to go to the Museum of Science and Industry. I have about 4 more weeks to decide what to do.

I guess I rambled enough for today. I am going to try and record my program in my bedroom and see if it works.

Hey girlfriend,

Congrats again on your weight loss, you are on a roll! We have the rain coming tomorrow into next week. I worked in the yard yesterday and planted tons of stuff, but since I am old and out shape I feel like I am crippled now. I did a blog post with a picture of the ground hog if you want to take a look. I would love to see some pictures of what you are doing in the yard.
Hugs!!!

Congrats on the weight loss! 44 lbs is something to be REALLY proud of.

I too get bored with workout DVDs, so I keep about 5-6 of them around, so that when I get bored I can move on to the next one. I also go through phases where I only want to go to the gym. Let us know how the new workout videos go!

I know what you mean about the weather. Can't we just have a nice Spring already? We're supposed to be in the 30's tonight. Hooray! Not!

Congrats on your loss. 44 pounds is fantastic. I wish I were as successful.

Have fun when your brother visits!

You are doing wonderful Dutch. I think the walking the trail idea will really make you feel great being outside. I know know for me it's very therapeutic. Hope you have a great time with your brother. Glad everything went so well with your hubby glad it wasn't anything serious.
